The correct transformer depends on three factors: the operating voltage of your switchable glass system (48VAC or 65VAC), the total connected load, and the number of panels. PriWatt offers 100W and 300W models to accommodate a wide range of residential and commercial applications. If you're unsure which model is right for your project, our technical team can assist with sizing and selection.

The coverage depends on the operating voltage, glass technology (PDLC, PNLC, or DLC), panel dimensions, and total power consumption. Rather than estimating by square footage alone, PriWatt recommends sizing transformers based on the total electrical load of the connected panels. Contact us with your project details for a recommendation.

The only difference is the output voltage. Each transformer is designed for switchable glass systems engineered to operate at either 48VAC or 65VAC. Always use the transformer specified for your PriWatt glass system, as using the incorrect output voltage may affect performance or damage the product.

Yes. Multiple panels can be powered by a single transformer provided that the combined electrical load does not exceed the transformer's rated capacity. Proper wiring practices and load calculations should always be followed.

Yes. All PriWatt transformers incorporate thermal protection to help safeguard the transformer during abnormal operating conditions. If an overload or excessive temperature occurs, the protection system helps prevent damage to the transformer.

Yes. PriWatt transformers are compatible with PriWatt controllers and can be integrated with popular automation systems such as Lutron, Crestron, Control4, KNX, dry-contact controls, wall switches, and other compatible control interfaces. The transformer supplies power, while the controller manages the switching function.

Yes. PriWatt isolation transformers are designed for continuous operation when installed and operated within their specified electrical ratings. For PDLC switchable glass, PriWatt recommends allowing the glass to remain in its OFF state for at least 4 hours within every 48-hour period to help maximize long-term performance and service life. This recommendation applies to the switchable glass itself, not to the transformer. The transformer may remain energized continuously.
