3-Year Limited Product Warranty

Built to Perform. Backed by Confidence.

At PriWatt™, we are committed to delivering premium switchable glass products engineered for exceptional performance, reliability, and long-term durability. Every product is manufactured using carefully selected materials and undergoes comprehensive quality inspections before leaving our facility. Because we stand behind the quality of our products, every qualifying purchase is protected by our 3-Year Limited Product Warranty.

PriWatt warrants to the original purchaser that its switchable PDLC glass products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship that materially impair their intended performance during the applicable three (3) year warranty period. This warranty also covers significant visual obstruction caused by dust or moisture between the glass panes when such conditions result directly from a manufacturing defect or failure of the factory seal. PriWatt further warrants the proper operation of PriWatt-supplied transformers and power supplies when installed and operated in accordance with PriWatt’s published specifications.

This Limited Product Warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser identified on the original sales invoice or order confirmation. It does not transfer upon resale of the product, transfer of ownership of the property, or assignment to any subsequent owner unless otherwise approved by PriWatt in writing.

If PriWatt determines that a covered manufacturing defect exists during the warranty period, PriWatt may, at its sole discretion:

  • Repair the defective product or component;
  • Replace the defective product or component with the same or a substantially equivalent product; or
  • Refund the original purchase price of the affected product.

The remedy selected by PriWatt shall constitute the purchaser’s sole and exclusive remedy under this Limited Product Warranty.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, this warranty does not cover labor, glazing, installation, removal, reinstallation, shipping, freight, customs duties, taxes, equipment rental, project delays, finishing work, or any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential expenses associated with the repair or replacement of a product.

Any repair or replacement performed under this warranty does not restart, renew, or extend the original three (3) year warranty period. Any replacement product or component shall remain covered only for the unexpired portion of the original warranty.

Warranty Registration

To activate warranty coverage, every PriWatt product must be registered.

The completed Warranty Registration Form must be submitted within 14 calendar days of product delivery or within 72 hours following installation, whichever occurs first.

Warranty registration enables PriWatt to verify ownership, maintain accurate product records, and provide faster technical assistance should warranty service become necessary.

Failure to register the product within the required timeframe may result in denial of warranty coverage.

Delivery Inspection

All PriWatt products should be thoroughly inspected immediately upon delivery and before installation.

The purchaser is responsible for verifying that the shipment has been received in good condition and that the correct products, quantities, dimensions, and electrical components have been supplied.

Any visible shipping damage, shortages, packaging damage, or other delivery-related issues must be reported to PriWatt within 24 hours of delivery and should be supported by photographs of both the product and its original packaging.

Products exhibiting visible damage should not be installed. Installation of any product constitutes acceptance of its visible condition at the time of installation.

Damage resulting from transportation, handling, unloading, storage, or other job-site conditions is not considered a manufacturing defect and is not covered under this Limited Product Warranty.

Smart Glass & Smart Film Care and Maintenance

Maintaining Peak Performance

PriWatt Smart Glass and Smart Film are designed to provide reliable performance and privacy on demand for many years. Proper cleaning, handling, and routine maintenance will help preserve optical clarity, switching performance, and the overall lifespan of your product.

Please follow the recommendations below to ensure safe operation and long-term durability.

Cleaning Smart Glass

PriWatt Smart Glass can be cleaned in the same manner as conventional architectural glass.

  • Use a quality, non-abrasive glass cleaner or isopropyl alcohol.
  • Wipe the surface with a clean, soft, lint-free microfiber cloth.
  • Avoid abrasive pads, steel wool, razor blades, or other sharp objects that could scratch the glass surface.

Cleaning Smart Film

To maintain the appearance and performance of PriWatt Smart Film, use only a clean microfiber cloth lightly dampened with 99% isopropyl alcohol.

Important Cleaning Guidelines

  • Always disconnect power to the Smart Film before cleaning.
  • Do not restore power until the film is completely dry.
  • Apply the cleaning solution to the cloth—not directly onto the film.
  • Wipe the surface gently using straight, even strokes without applying excessive pressure.
  • Never use water, abrasive cleaners, ammonia-based products, solvents, or harsh chemicals.
  • Do not saturate the film or allow moisture to enter the film edges, electrical connections, or busbars.
  • Never use buckets of water, soaked cloths, pressure washers, steam cleaners, or other cleaning methods that expose the film to excessive moisture.
  • Do not use metal tools, scrapers, razor blades, or abrasive materials on the film surface.
  • Improper cleaning methods may permanently scratch, mark, or damage the protective hard-coat layer and may void warranty coverage.

General Maintenance

To maximize product life and ensure consistent performance:

  • Inspect the installation periodically for signs of moisture intrusion, damaged wiring, or loose electrical connections.
  • Keep surrounding seals and glazing systems in good condition to prevent water penetration.
  • Operate the product only in accordance with PriWatt’s published installation and operating guidelines.
  • If damage, abnormal operation, or electrical issues are observed, discontinue use and contact PriWatt before attempting any repairs.

Proper care and routine maintenance will help ensure your PriWatt Smart Glass and Smart Film continue to deliver reliable performance, exceptional clarity, and privacy on demand for years to come.

Recommended Annual Inspection

To help ensure long-term performance, PriWatt™ recommends inspecting your Smart Glass or Smart Film installation at least once each year.

During the inspection, verify that:

  • All electrical wiring and connections remain secure and are operating properly.
  • Transformers, controllers, and power supplies are functioning correctly.
  • Framing systems, glazing components, and surrounding materials show no signs of damage, movement, or deterioration.
  • Perimeter seals remain intact and continue to protect the product from moisture intrusion.

The surrounding installation area should also be inspected to confirm that walls, ceilings, floors, and adjacent structural components remain in good condition. Excessive heat, humidity, water intrusion, or structural movement can adversely affect the performance and lifespan of switchable glass and smart film and should be corrected promptly.

Where silicone sealant has been applied to protect exposed edges from moisture, inspect the sealant periodically to ensure it remains continuous and intact. Any damaged or deteriorated sealant should be repaired or replaced as necessary to maintain proper moisture protection.

Routine inspections and preventative maintenance will help maximize product life, preserve switching performance, and ensure reliable operation for years to come.
