Privacy is the job, not a preference

A law firm’s conference room has a duty its architecture has to keep. Lomurro Law wanted that duty met without hanging blinds in a contemporary office: partitions that are open when the conversation is open, and private the moment it is not.

What the firm asked for

The interior partitions were already glazed, and the office reads clean and modern. Blinds and curtains would have worked against both: fabric in the sightline, slats to dust, and a room that looks closed whenever it is closed. What was wanted was privacy that arrives instantly, holds for the meeting, and disappears again, with the glass staying glass.

What was installed

PriWatt switchable glass panels were custom-fitted into the meeting rooms and private offices, taking the place of the existing partition glass and leaving the architecture as it was. A press takes a panel from clear to frosted; wall switches handle the day-to-day, and the same panels can be switched remotely.

The work was done around the firm’s own schedule and not in place of it, and the staff were shown how to run the system before it was handed over. A short session, because there is one thing to learn.
