Switchable glass railings

A switchable glass balustrade going from clear to private.

What is in this film

The film covers the two projects this page describes, both of them photographed on site.

On the waterfront terrace the same view is shown twice. First the balustrade stands solid white above the parapet, with only sky above it. Then it is clear, and the dock, the water and the far shore are visible straight through the guard. A later shot holds close on a frosted section with a skyline behind it.

At the pool the switch itself is in frame: a hand holds the remote at the edge of the water, with the glass guard running along the far side of the deck.

These are exterior guards, so the glass is laminated safety glass engineered for outside use, on low-voltage switching. It is reverse mode, which is the right way round for a barrier that exists because of the view: transparent with no power drawn, private for the hour it is wanted.
