PriWatt film in the offices of Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma
Fitted to the glass that was already there
Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma’s office was finished, occupied and designed to a settled look before any switchable glazing was discussed. That is the ordinary situation and it narrows the options to one: whatever goes in has to go onto the existing partitions without changing what they look like.
PriWatt PDLC film was cut to each pane and applied to the glazing in place, with the work run around the office’s operating day.
“Custom-fitted” is a manufacturing step, not a site one
Be precise about what that phrase means, because it is where retrofits go wrong. The film is not trimmed against the glass with a blade once it is up. Each panel is measured, cut to its own dimensions and delivered as the piece for that opening. That is why the survey happens before the order and not after it.
- Every pane is measured individually, because a partition run that looks modular rarely is
- The film is cut with a margin to the frame, not to the visible glass; the sightline and the pane are different rectangles
- Holes, notches and shaped edges are fabricated to the drawing, not cut on site
- The busbar position is decided at that point too, because it determines where the tail leaves the panel
The fourth is the one that has to be agreed with whoever owns the partition framing. A tail has to reach a transformer, and the route it takes through a finished wall is either drawn now or improvised later.

What a pharmaceutical office needs that a general office does not
Material under discussion
Clinical and regulatory work is confidential by default, not by exception. The privacy requirement is the normal state of some rooms and not others.
Nothing added to the room
Film goes onto the pane. No track above the glazing, no fabric, and nothing new to include in a cleaning or qualification regime.
Manufactured in the USA
Laminated and assembled in Pompano Beach instead of imported finished, and that keeps a switchable panel off a project’s critical path.
Where the requirement moves from an office into production or laboratory space it stops being about confidentiality and starts being about supervision: a cleanroom viewing panel is watched from outside and screened when the work is proprietary. PriWatt has been specified that way at West Pharmaceutical.

The certifications, stated exactly
PriWatt publishes two, and they are on patents and certifications with the documents behind them: UL Recognized Components, and SGCC safety-glazing certification. Both are available as files on request.
Other approvals are sometimes attributed to this product in material published elsewhere. Where PriWatt has not published a certificate, this site does not assert the approval. A certification named in marketing copy and absent from a submittal package is worse than no claim, because somebody eventually asks for the number.
Specified on this project
PriWatt PDLC switchable film
Self-adhesive film applied to glass already in the building. Private unpowered, clear when switched.
Offices and boardrooms
Partitions, meeting rooms and executive offices — the application this belongs to.
Office partitions
How a glazed run is built: where the joints fall, and how one transformer serves a wall.
A project like this one
A finished office, a regulated environment, or partitions that have to be upgraded without being rebuilt. PriWatt makes the glass and the film in Pompano Beach, Florida, and quotes every project off its own drawings. Send dimensions, or a photograph with the sizes written on it. No drawings yet? Take the call instead.
